| Abstract: In order to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the watermelon and melon industries in Yanqing district, the development status of the watermelon and melon industries in Yanqing district
were summarized from the aspects of industrial scale, industrial layout, industrial benefi ts, operation mode, planting mode and so on. Yanqing district, with its unique advantages of cold and cool climate, had formed a staggered supply with the main production areas of watermelon and melon in Beijing, effectively making up for the gap in the market of Beijing's self-produced watermelon and melon from July to August. In addition, the development momentum of the watermelon and melon industries in Yanqing district was strong with outstanding ecological and geographical advantages. However, there were problems, such as small industrial scale and incomplete industrial chain, weak driving ability of leading enterprises, lack of labor force and experience, and unstable technology team, making it diffi cult to ensure the quality of technological services. Based on actual situations, development suggestions were proposed, containing strengthening policy guidance and filling industry gaps, cultivating leading enterprises and improving mechanisms to enhance driving capabilities, strengthening the construction of scientifi c and technological teams and provide good technological services, strengthening marketing system and brand building and so on. |
