Abstract: In order to determine the optimal plant spacing of the new purple sweet potato cultivar 'Neiyuzi No.2' and provide technical basis for the demonstration and promotion of the new cultivar, five different plant spacings (20, 25, 30, 35, 40 cm) were set up to investigate and analyze the growth and yield traits of purple sweet potato 'Neiyuzi No.2' under different plant spacing conditions. The results showed that increasing plant spacing was beneficial to increase the length of stem and vine, the number of branches, the number of roots per plant, the weight of fresh roots per plant and the proportion of large and medium roots. In the range of 30-40 cm, reducing plant spacing was beneficial to increase the yield of fresh potato, the yield of stem and leaf, and the yield of dried potato. The yield of fresh potato and dried potato were both the highest at 30 cm plant spacing, which were 1 722.67 kg per 667 m2 and 480.63 kg per 667 m2, respectively. Overall consideration, it was suggested that the plant spacing of 'Neiyuzi No. 2' should be 30 cm to obtain ideal yield of fresh potato. |
