Abstract: Using the paradigm of industrial organization (SCP), the garlic industry in Shandong province was
analyzed from three aspects of industrial structure, market behavior and market performance. The results showed
that garlic industry in Shandong had the advantage of natural resources, high regional market concentration and
strong market competitiveness. For suppliers such as farmers, there were no entry and exit barriers, but there were
high price risks. However, traders, hoarders and processors had higher exit barriers, mainly asset specificity and
disposal loss barriers. It suggested that the government should continue to take measures to adjust the market
structure and appropriately improve scale efficiency, which was conducive to reducing the production risk caused
by the price fluctuation of small farmers, thus affecting the market behavior of operating subjects and improving
the market performance. |
