Abstract: In order to determine the best sowing time and planting density of a new cultivar of exceptional
early maturing cauliflower 'Zhenong Songhua 50' in Hangzhou area, six different sowing dates (June 24th, July
1st, July 5th, July 10th, July 15th, July 20th) and three different planting densities (30 000, 33 000, 36 000 plants/hm2
) were
set up in the complex factor experiment. The effects of different sowing dates and densities on plant traits, flower
traits, yield and benefits were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the best combination of sowing
date and planting density was July 15th and 36 000 plants/hm2
, with the highest single head weight of 775 g
and highest yield of 28 420 kg/hm2
, and highest actual output value of 78 156 yuan/hm2
. It was followed by the
combination of sowing date and planting density with 33 000 plants/hm2
planted on July 1st. |
