Abstract: In order to effectively control stem base rot of ginger and promote the healthy development of
ginger industry, the harm characteristics and occurrence law of stem base rot of ginger of Laiwu district were
expounded and the green and comprehensive control technological measures were summarized based on a
large number of investigations and long-term production practice, such as agricultural control, physical control
and biological control. Among them, the pathogen of stem base rot of Laiwu ginger was Pythium myriotylum
drechsler. Ginger could be infected by the pathogen during the whole growth period and storage period. The field
onset period was from May to September, and the peak onset period was from July to August. At this time, it was
high temperature and humid, and the disease develops rapidly. According to the investigation, the disease reduced
the yield of ginger by 10% -20%. Stem base rot of ginger was a typical soil borne disease. Comprehensive control
measures could effectively prevent the occurrence of stem base rot and ensure the quality and safety of ginger
products, such as high temperature treatment, soil sterilization, selection of virus-free cultivars, improvement of
cultivation technologies and application of biological agents. |
