| Abstract: In order to promote the safe production of watermelon and melon in Dongtai city, based on the analysis of the current situation of using pesticide and chemical fertilizer on watermelon and melon in greenhouse of Jiangsu coastal area, it was pointed out that excessive use of chemical fertilizer and chemical pesticide was the main reasons leading to the continuous cropping obstacles of soil, as well as the obstacles of the quality and safety of agricultural products and the creation and maintenance of brand. Some suggestions were put forward, which contained increasing policy and financial support to guide the implementation of chemical fertilizer, building self-governing organizations of farmers to guide farmers to reduce the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers through self-restraint and mutual supervision, strengthening social services and scientific and technological support and promoting the popularization of accurate and quantitative production technology. Another, fi ve key points of reducing pesticide and chemical fertilizer cultivation in watermelon and melon producing areas of north Jiangsu province were summarized, including optimizing production environment, choosing to use high-quality, high-yield and strong resistance seedlings, simplify the production mode and optimizing the management links, strengthening the popularization and application of standardization, and accelerating the popularization and application of advanced fertilizer and pesticide technology. |
