| Abstract: In order to make full use of the regional characteristics of complex terrain, obvious regional climate differences and vertical changes, high average temperature and abundant rainfall in the Three Gorges Area and the planting advantages of potato suitable for growth, long-term cultivation and large total yield, the new potato cultivar "Huayu No.5" was tested, demonstrated and popularized. The results showed that "Huayu No.5" had the characteristics of high quality, high yield and strong stress resistance, which was suitable for planting in the Three Gorges Area. According to its characteristics, virus-free breeding and seed potato production of new and excellent cultivars could be carried out, and fi nally the seed potato supply base in the Three Gorges Area was built, which would be play a demonstration and leading role in ensuring the sustainable and healthy development of potato industry in the region. |
