| Abstract: The status of biotechnology and its application in vegetable production and the existing problems in the development of bio-agricultural industry in Nanjing were analyzed emphatically. The problems mainly contained inadequaing scientific and technological innovation in bio-agriculture, lacking of high-tech talents related to bio-agriculture, and imperfect service system of biotechnology extension. Some countermeasures and suggestions were put forward to accelerate the development of biotechnology in bio-agriculture and promote the progress of vegetable industry, such as strengthening leadership, building a platform for biotechnology research and development and promotion, accelerating the extension of biotechnology by taking the opportunity of promoting the construction of horticultural crop standard garden, strengthening the publicity and guidance of public opinion, and improving bio-agriculture and product awareness and so on. |
