Abstract: To search for alleviating effects of exogenous Ca2+ on lotus root seedlings under salt stress, theseedlings of lotus root H2(flower varieties of lotus root, salt sensitivity) with 3erect leaves were used as materials, treated by NaCl and Ca(NO3)2. The results showed that the content of soluble protein, leaf chlorophyll and SODactivity were significantly decreased, while the membrane permeability, MDA and proline content were increasedafter treatment with NaCl. After treated by different concentrations of Ca2+, the content of leaf chlorophyll, solubleprotein, proline and SOD activity were significantly enhanced when the exogenous Ca2+ at low concentration. Theproline content increased more greatly than before, while the cell membrane permeability and MDA content weredecreased significantly in later stage. In a total, low concentration of Ca2+ showed positively effect on alleviatingsalt stress, while high concentration of Ca2+ was negatively effect on lotus root. |
